“I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.” Sir Winston Churchill

There is a game of chicken being played by the Republicans and Democrats with the potential ultimate loser is YOU, the taxpayer and your family. Especially hard hit will be seniors, those on fixed incomes and the beleaguered middle class!
The House and Senate are scheduled to meet just three more times this week before calling an official end to the 2013-14 session.
Legislative issues are being used as a bargain chips (there has been talk lately of prevailing wage, this would be the perfect time!) to try and obtain what each wants. We know what the Governor wants, HIGH road taxes.
If you do not drive a diesel vehicle you may not pay attention to diesel fuel but almost everything you purchase (from food to furniture) comes by DIESEL TRUCKS and that cost with passed on to you, the consumer. Add the Internet tax into the mix and YOU the taxpayer will be paying MUCH MORE for EVERYTHING Next Christmas!
While at the same time legislators voted, giving subsidies to film companies and supporting corporate welfare through the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC)
From the article, State Agency Has 52 Employees Who Earn More Than $100K
“Rep. MacMaster continued. “But the final insult is that taxpayers fund the MEDC to the tune of $200 million a year, including multiple $100,000-plus jobs for officials, and $257,500 for last year’s highest paid employee in state government. Did the MEDC achieve the desired benchmarks to warrant the salary increase they received? I haven’t seen anything to support it.”
DO NOT TELL ME THERE IS NO MONEY FOR ROADS!
AN INTERNET TAX ONLY HELPS THE BIG BOX STORES, NOT SMALL BUSINESS OR THE CONSUMER!
I know there is a busy time of the year, however it’s IMPERATIVE you call TODAY so that Christmas 2015 won’t cost YOU so much more!
Remember as you call:
You can not tax your way into prosperity
Increasing costs for everyone isn’t the way to “level the playing field”, reducing costs is.
A limited government needs limited resources (taxes)
