We are a state wide group of concerned citizens who believe in limited government as enumerated in our Founding Documents.
We are not a 501c(3) or (4) or “whatever.” Do not have a donate button. We are the grassroots, plain and simple.
Grassroots in Michigan was originally Lansing MI Tea Party and was founded by Joan Fabiano who is a Conservative blogger and grassroots activist and currently contributes to WatchDogWire/Michigan. We changed the name to better reflect the variety of our members/following.
Ms. Fabiano was involved in the organizing of the very first national tea parties via Twitter and co-organized the first Michigan Tea Party on Feb. 27 2009 at our state Capitol. Co-organized the April 15, 2009 tea party at our state Capitol and organized the July 4, 2009 at our state Capitol
Grassroots in Michigan has organized “Tea Parties” rallies and protest at the State Capitol and at Senator Debbie Stabenow’s East Lansing office. Organizer, Joan Fabiano appeared on Fox Business News with Charles Payne and was a guest speaker on Michigan leg of the Tea Party Express tour.
Additionally, Grassroots in Michigan has received coverage from Michigan TV affiliates, WILX, WLAJ, and WSYM and others. In the Lansing State Journal, the Detroit Free Press, and various other Michigan and national newspapers, and on radio stations WOOD, WJR, WJIM, and others.
We send out a Newsletter that covers Michigan legislative issues, policy and opportunities for Michigan activists to become engaged in the policies that effect their lives. If you do not receive our Newsletters and would like to, there is a sign up area on our front page.
