Exciting News! I have been invited to be on the Michigan leg of the Tea Party Express “Vote Them Out” Tour! The Michigan leg of the tour is April 8-11, and the bus will be coming to Ironwood, Escanaba, Sault Sainte Marie, Traverse City Grand Rapids, Lansing and Detroit. This is a tremendous opportunity to the bring Grassroots in Michigan’s message of “Take Michigan Back” to Michiganders across the state!

Joan Fabiano, activist and Tea Party organizer will join the Michigan leg of the Tea Party Express III “Vote Them Out” Tour. Fabiano is a retired General Motors employee and United Auto Workers Union member now running a small business part-time. She has lived in the state of Michigan, once considered the automotive capital of the world, throughout her life.

Ms. Fabiano has been an active citizen, engaging in the political process both online as a blogger and on the grassroots level within Michigan. She is among the “pioneers” of the tea party movement, having organized the event held at the State Capitol on February 27, 2009, which occurred simultaneously with those in 40 other cities. Soon after she founded the citizen activist group, Grassroots in Michigan.

Tea Party Express Coordinator, Joe Wierzbicki, extended the invitation to Fabiano, “We were inspired and impressed by Joan’s passion, her diligence and determined efforts to return our country and her state to a Constitutional government. We are happy to have her join our family here on the Tea Party Express bus for our tour through Michigan.”

My intent is to provide projects of “armchair activism” that can be done from home yet still send the message to our Representatives that we will not give up until the ObamaCare Bill is killed. This abomination of government control is a nail in the coffin of our Constitutional personal liberties and in fact our very Republic.

ObamaCare for Idiots

Taxpayers should not pay for UAW Health Care Benefits

One reason the public so distrusts the health care plan being considered by Congress is that so many troublesome details keep bubbling out of the massive legislation. The latest example is the $10 billion taxpayers will be asked to shell out to prop up the United Auto Workers’ retiree health insurance program.

That provision is tucked deep into the bill passed by the House.

In effect, it would ask every taxpayer, regardless of whether they’ll have health insurance coverage themselves after they retire — and most won’t — to chip in to maintain the UAW’s coverage, which even after the union’s givebacks is still better than what the average American worker receives.

The helping hand is a recognition by Congress that the union’s volunteer employee benefit association, or VEBA, can’t possibly stay solvent if it is asked to cover all of the union workers taking early buyouts from the Detroit automakers. So the union’s supporters added language to the House’s gargantuan health care bill that requires the federal government to pick up most of the cost of catastrophic claims for union retirees age 55 to 64.

The biggest beneficiary would be the UAW, which got $60 billion from the Big Three in exchange for taking on the obligation for retiree health care.
