Congratulations! Michigan Liberty Lovers!

“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” Wendell Phillips, (1811-1884), abolitionist, orator and columnist for The Liberator, in a speech before the Massachusetts Antislavery Society in 1852,

The Level One Federal funding appropriation bill for the (Obama Care) Health Insurance Exchange did NOT come up before the Senate for a vote and the Senate has adjourned until April 9th.
What does that mean?

It means that for all intent and purposes, the voluntary concluding with the Federal government state created Exchange is dead!

Rep Joe Haverman, Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee and the bill’s sole sponsor (and a YES voter ) on HB 4111said today, “I think for all practical purposes we’re dead in the water, and we’re going to see a federal exchange,” Haveman said.

Additionally its HIGHLY unlikely now that Michigan, having rejected the Level One Federal funding could possibly mean the deadline of the law to have a Exchange  by January 1, 2014.
(b) STATE ACTION.—Each State that elects, at such time and in such manner as the Secretary may prescribe, to apply the require- ments described in subsection (a) shall, not later than January 1, 2014, adopt and have in effect—the Federal standards established under subsection (a);(2) a State law or regulation that the Secretary determines implements the standards within the State.

HB 4213 moved without the $1.5 billion in extra federal spending which means that  Medicaid would not be expanded to cover the roughly 400,000 Michiganders living under 133 percent of the federal poverty level under the House Department of Community Health (DCH) Appropriations Subcommittee plan for Fiscal Year (FY) 2014.

Now this is not the end, its a step in the process and don’t worry there are those who want to “properly educate” those reluctant Reps about the wonderful benefits of a Medicaid expansion!
Subcommittee Chair Matt LORI (R-Constantine) said he personally supports Snyder’s plan to expand Medicaid, but it’s going to take a lot more education to get more of his Republican colleagues on board.

“It’s very complicated and there’s a lot of members who don’t understand the importance of medical care as it’s in this budget in its entirety, but we’re working on it,” Lori said.

However, it does show the reluctance of Republicans to expand Medicaid

Because of OUR calls/emails/faxes,and OUR testimony at Committee meetings (and more than a few press releases from GiM and others) that stated back in September 22, 2011 when the first attempt to create an Exchange, SB 693 was introduced.

We remained eternally vigilance, fighting the good fight of liberty against a unrighteousness policy and law that limits personal liberty, private rights, promotes excessive taxation, and renounces the sanctity of life.

Thank you my fellow Michigan freedom fighters! We WILL continue to keep up the fight, our future, our children’s and grand children’s future our state and country’s future depends on what we do TODAY!

Tell Us Lies, Tell Us Sweet Lies
Remember the song Fleetwood Mac song “Little Lies?

“Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)….
So I’ll settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies”

Apparently Gov. Snyder remembers. His office offered this today (3-20) “However, the Governor also did indicate yesterday that we saw no way feasible to move forward with even this second option and have to move to the third option — complete federal exchange — which would mean no control over exchange’s operation in Michigan [1]while still needing state resources, estimated at $8.3 million, to cover some of the costs we’ll incur [2]without federal funding – if there wasn’t action in the Senate this week,”

And there wasn’t however…..
NOT so fast Governor.
First of Control is an illusion. All rules are promulgated on a Federal level including ALL plans qualified to be offered in the Exchange.

AND secondly, where in the PPACA (Sec 1322 pg 86) does it say that the state HAS to fund anything with a Federal default Exchange Governor?  It doesn’t. NO WHERE in the law is a state required to fund a Federal default Exchange! So if Michigan spends 8.3 million its because YOU want to Gov. Snyder to help with the Medicaid expansion that YOU want!

However these are “sweet little lies” compared to the BIG LIE…
Haven’t you ever thought, why are these Republicans lining up to implement the Exchange? There has to be something in it for them? I know I have.

So to do some real critical thinking Particularly, “Critical thinking should be a constructive force and attitude, for examining all ideas and arguments, including your own dearly held ones, and for separating the ideas from their vehicles, to divide true from false, accurate from distorted, complete from incomplete, and so on.…a critical thinker will be even more open to opposing arguments and ideas,…recognizing that he or she, the critical thinker, can always learn something from others,

Therefore, I looked at web sites that offered opposing views. Progressive (Liberal) web sites, not your ordinary garden variety liberals but the true believers, Progressive ideologues. And read their articles and comments about Obama Care and President Obama
You see they are as mad as we are about Obama Care.
They KNOW too that … “That said, I’m still no fan of ObamaCare. It does nothing whatsoever to lower healthcare costs, particularly administrative costs, or improve the quality and accessibility in our health care system.
They are aware that Obama is not an ideologue just another slick Chicago style politician on the dole cutting deals instead of some one who really cares about health care.

Another comment,

“..More deeply, there are serious questions about the extent to which Obama, with the help of Rahm Emanuel, used a K Street strategy to pursue health care reform. The strategy seems to have been to make backroom deals to protect the interests of the likes of the drug industry and the for-profit hospital industry in exchange for campaign cash, even if this meant reversing campaign promises to include * a public option   to put competitive pressure on private insurance premiums, and to allow Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices and Americans to buy cheaper drugs from Canada.

*However, the pathway the “smoking gun” is really there, in the bill

They realize, ladies and gentlemen who actually profits from the PPACA and

the Medicaid expansion….

Big insurance, big health care companies, + crony capitalism (both Democrats and Republicans) = ObamaCare & Medicaid Expansion!
